About Us

All Means All: JCUMC Welcomes You!
We are called the Heart of JC for two reasons: We are located in the heart of Junction City, Oregon, and we try to live our lives and model our ministries after the heart of Jesus Christ.

To that end, we welcome to our fellowship and work all the persons that Jesus would welcome and embrace:

We extend a special welcome to those who are single, married, divorced, gay, straight, filthy rich, or dirt poor. We extend a special welcome to crying newborns, those of all shapes, sizes, body types, and colors.

You’re welcome here if you’re “just browsing,” just woke up or just got out of jail. We don’t care if you’re more Catholic than the Pope, more Methodist than Wesley, or haven’t been in church since little Joey’s baptism.

We welcome soccer moms, Ducks Dads, Beaver Believers, starving artists, tree-huggers, latte-sippers, vegetarians, junk-food eaters. We welcome those who are in recovery or still addicted.

We welcome you if you’re having problems, if you’re down in the dumps, or in need of a prayer, whether you had church shoved down your throat as a kid, or if you don’t like “organized religion.”

We’ve been there too.

We welcome those who are inked, pierced or both. We welcome tourists, seekers and doubters, bleeding hearts… and you!

Reboot Your Life
The Gospels all depict Jesus beginning his ministry saying “Repent! The kingdom of God is at hand!” If he had come today, he might say, “Reboot! You are about to commit a fatal error that will cause your life system to crash!” We start on the Jesus Path when we recognize that the path we are on is not working, or is perhaps even dangerous or perilous to our health, and the health of the world. In computer talk: our life is giving us “error messages” and it is time to disconnect from a dysfunctional system, purge our operating system of the old and download a new Operating System. Time to “reboot.”

JP21 Via Vida: Via Vidais Latin for “way of life,” and that is precisely what JP21 is all about: the Way of Life lived, modeled and taught by Jesus. It is a long-term study and fellowship group based around a study of the Gospels, with a special focus upon the Sermon on the Mount in the Gospel of Matthew and the parallel in Luke's gospel,  Sermon on the Plain, as the primary Spiritual Formation guide that Jesus left, or, more accurately, that the early church pulled together as being representative of his teachings and his life example.
